A former Professor of  Ophthalmology from the University of South Carolina has joined Charlotte Ophthalmology as a specialist in refractive and corneal surgery. Charlotte Ophthalmology is pleased to announce the addition of Brandon C. Whiteside, M.D., to the Birkdale location.

Dr. Whiteside comes to the center from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine where for the last three years, he has taught LASIK and cataract surgery as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology.  His work at the university included conducting clinical studies in refractive surgery.  Dr. Whiteside is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Medical Association.  As a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, he has been an active participant in their continuing medical education for physicians.
