Experience and Personal Care are important

Surgeon experience combined with the latest advances in laser vision technology are the two most important elements that determine how you will see after laser vision correction. At Charlotte Ophthalmology Center for Sight, Dr. Branner, Dr. Vaziri and Dr. Whiteside have peformed over 18,000 refractive and lens implant procedures.  We provide personal care.  Our doctors perform your pre-op testing, your surgery and your post-operative care.  They are truly with you every step of the way.  And we invest heavily in training and in advanced technology. Our commitment to you is that we will not take short cuts to save you a few dollars. If you are shopping around for laser vision correction, use this section of our website to compare our technology to others. You can also view our  handy, "Checklist of things to ask your LVC provider" page.

Precise Diagnostic Technology is important:

State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment like Custom Wavefront is important because it is used to determine whether you are a candidate for laser vision correction, and if so, which procedure is most appropriate for you. It is also used to calculate the customized settings for the laser for your particular treatment.

Advanced Laser Technology makes a difference:

Now in its second decade of use, the technologically advanced Excimer laser has added a tremendous amount of precision, control and safety to treating nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. Dr. Branner, Dr. Vaziri and Dr. Whiteside use the advanced VISX Star S4 Active Track Excimer Laser System and CustomVue WavePrint technology, one of the most advanced laser systems available.  The eye tracker adds a new level of comfort, safety, and precision by locking in the treatment on the center of your vision and keeping it there despite any eye movements.

We have also added the Ziemer LDV femtosecond laser for creation of the flap in LASIK patients.  This is the latest generation of laser technology designed for flap creation.  It produces a smoother bed than the Intralase laser and a quicker recovery of vision.  It allows patients to have their flap created with a laser instead of a blade allowing a more gentle procedure and quicker recovery of vision.

Our Z-VisionTM procedure combines these two advanced technologies.  At our office Z-VisionTM gives our patients personal care, the precision and accuracy of the latest VISX Star S4 CustomVue Wavefront System for correction of their refractive error AND the more gentle procedure and quicker visual recovery obtained with the Ziemer femtosecond laser for flap creation.  Z-VisionTM is the most advanced All-Laser LASIK procedure in the world.
